University of Kerala initiated new generation double main programme BA Economics and Mathematics in 2020. The department offers three year course in (double main) BA Economics & Mathematics and four year courses, BA Economics Major with Mathematics minor. The Faculties of the Department are competent active research scholars. Currently the department has three faculty positions.

BA Economics and Mathematics (CBCSS- new gen)

BA Economics & Mathematics is a double main course offered by the Department of Economics and  the Department of Mathematics together. A UG double main programme combining the subjects Mathematics and  Economics  enables the students to grab analytical and logical skills and apply them in the field of Economics. Mathematics is a tool to internalise modern Economics. It is a well structured course that promotes Mathematical applications in Economics. This course will be useful to those students with a firm mathematical and economics background.
