As part of the statewide initiative by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala, TKM College of Arts & Science, Kollam solemnly observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26th June 2025. The event aimed to sensitize students about the consequences of substance abuse and promote a drug-free campus culture.
The programme commenced with a live streaming of the state-level inaugural function led by Hon’ble Minister Dr. R. Bindu, who emphasized community vigilance and institutional commitment. The college-level observance began with a silent prayer, followed by a formal session where Dr. Harisankar H S welcomed the gathering. An anti-drug pledge was administered by Dr. Sangeetha P, and the Principal, Dr. M.J. Sheeba, delivered the inaugural address underscoring collective action.
Felicitations were offered by faculty members including Dr. Firoz Khan A, Lt. Dr. Tharun A Rauf, and Capt. Liby K S. Cultural events followed, featuring a flash mob, skits by NCC and NSS, an awareness speech by Ms. Aleena Thomas, and a song by Ms. Fida. The Principal distributed state-level ‘NASHAMUKTH’ prizes to three student achievers. The day concluded with a strong message of awareness, responsibility, and action.
