Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In compliance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015, and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of TKM College of Arts and Science is committed to preventing and resolving instances of sexual harassment against female employees and students. The committee ensures a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free environment, protecting individuals from discrimination, retaliation, or sexual misconduct at all levels.

The Internal Complaint Committee shall

  • Assist employees or students who wish to file a complaint with the police.
  • Provide a fair and just way to resolve disputes through discussion, ensuring the complainant’s rights are protected while avoiding harsh punishments that may cause anger, isolation, or further issues.
  • Keep the complainant’s identity confidential and offer necessary support, such as leave, flexible attendance, or a transfer to another department or supervisor. If needed, the offender may also be transferred.
  • Ensure that victims or witnesses are not mistreated or discriminated against while handling sexual harassment complaints.
  • Prevent any retaliation or negative actions against individuals for reporting or supporting a complaint.


Definition of Sexual Harassment:

Sexual Harassment shall include, but will not be confined to, the following:

  • Unwanted physical contact or advances.
  • Requests or demands for sexual favors.
  • Sexually suggestive comments or remarks.
  • Displaying or sharing pornographic content.
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal behavior of a sexual nature.

If the ICC determines that the allegations were false, made with malicious intent, or filed with knowingly untrue, forged, or misleading information, the complainant may face appropriate action as per the relevant provisions of the UGC Regulations 2015.
