Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), which comes under the Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Space, Government of India conducts outreach E-Learning Education Programmes in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and GNSS technology for natural resources, environmental and disaster management. As part of the distance learning programme of IIRS, TKM College of Arts and Science, Kollam has been selected as its network institute in 2020. The students of the college were offered various certificate courses in Remote Sensing of Land Degradation and Global Navigation Satellite System. Dr. Mohammed Salim. M, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics has been selected as the coordinator of the programme.
